In 2019's Captain Marvel, Brie Larson took up the mantle of the cosmic warrior in her own solo origin movie set in the 1990s. Initially serving in the alien Kree's Starforce, 'Vers' soon learns that she is the human former U.S. Air Force pilot 'Carol Danvers' who was involved in the testing of a light-speed engine at the Project Pegasus base. When the experimental engine explodes she is granted superhuman powers that include energy-absorption, flight, durability and incredible strength.

You could say Avengers: Endgame was a tale of two captains, both with a military background, one a time-tossed super-solider from WWII, the other a cosmic warrior of the spaceways. Whereas 'Captain America's' heroic story came to an end in the movie, 'Captain Marvel' was positioned as the future of the Avengers, or at least front and centre as the powerful protector of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Following on from her impressive debut in her own solo movie, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel joined the ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes to take on the threat of 'Thanos' with her cosmic flight, super-strength and photon powers.

These superhero costumes were photographed on display at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre on May 1, 2019, although Captain Marvel sports more than one look in this film to help illustrate the passage of time.

Captain Marvel's Kree Starforce uniform on display...

In Captain Marvel Brie Larson plays an amnesiac warrior called 'Vers' serving with the Kree's elite military Starforce and sports this cool green, silver and black uniform as part of the team led by Jude Law's 'Yon-Rogg'. After escaping from the alien shape-shifting Skrulls, she meets a younger 'Nick Fury' (Samuel L. Jackson de-aged with the help of CGI) and soon changes her costume colours using her suit's camouflage capabilities when 'Carol Danvers' learns her true human heritage as a U.S. Air Force pilot and the origin of her powers.
